1. Introduction about Chieu Lau Thi Mountain
Chieu Lau Thi (also known as Kieu Lieu Ti) is also known as the second highest mountain of Ha Giang, which means "Nine stairs". Located in the middle of the land of "golden bark" - Hoang Su Phi (Ha Giang) is a new destination added to the "must conquer" list of trekking lovers.
Chieu Lau Thi peak is 2,402m above sea level, belongs to Tay Con Linh range located on the Northwest arc, it is the second highest mountain of Ha Giang. Tay Con Linh peak is 2.42 m high, not significantly higher than Chieu Lau Thi peak.
Chieu Lau Thi mountain is located in Tan Minh and Chien Thang hamlets, Ho Thau commune, Hoang Su Phi district, Ha Giang province. At the foot of Chieu Lau Thi mountain, there are 13 communes in Hoang Su Phi and Xin Man districts.

3. How to get there
Chieu Lau Thi cloud hunting season is from November to March. If possible, you choose to go on full moon days to watch the moon and stars among the mountains and forests.

3.1. Going from the direction of Lao Cai - Xin Man - Hoang Su Phi
From TT Viet Quang – Hoang Su Phi
Go past the Petrolimex Hoang Su Phi petrol station 500m (each district has only 1 Petro station), meet the concrete road on the right hand side, turn in, cross a bridge, turn left along the road to Ban Luoc. Concrete road 12km to Ban Luoc. From Ban Luoc ask people how to go to Ho Thau (left hand) continue running on the concrete road for about 16km, at the Ho Thau - Nang Don junction, turn right in the direction of Nang Don. Run off-road dirt and rock about 12 km to Chieu Lau Thi.
3.2. From the intersection of Tan Quang - Ha Giang
Go to Hoang Su Phi
Follow the asphalt road through 1000 terraced fields, the road is easy to go about 50km. Keep going like this until you see a sign or look up GPS navigation on the way to Ho Thau, then turn in. At the crossroads of Ho Thau - Nang Don, turn to Nang Don.
In either direction, you have to conquer 12km offroad (2 hours by motorbike) from Ho Thau - Nang Don junction (from an altitude of about 1,000m - 2,100m rest point).
12km offroad is only for drivers who own strong cars, hard steering. The road is full of big rocks, bumpy, high slope (> 10%). Motorbikes are inherently suitable for mountainous terrain, one of the choices of backpackers in the Northwest, but it is also difficult to promote if the driver is limited in height (it is difficult to stand on this short 12km road).
Almost everyone conquers the top of Chieu Lau Thi (the trek is easy - medium difficulty) but driving through 12km offroad by yourself, not everyone can overcome it by themselves. You also don't need to worry too much because some ethnic people (mainly Red Dao, Win car) accept pick up / drop off to Uncle Phu homestay / climbing point to Chieu Lau Thi peak (VND 400,000 / round trip, the same day or the next day. pick up).
